Nice clone, but...

...the game has a couple serious flaws which turn it from a lot of fun into a real pain really, REALLY fast. It starts fun, and is an excellent clone of the whole Geometry Wars style of game. But, the issues which really need to be dealt with are these:

A) Playfield's too small. In a game like this, you REALLY need to see the whole playfield -- the action gets too frenetic too fast to rely on a radar. You could either shrink everything (which would be my choice, the graphics are HUGE as it is) or simply resize the game's resolution.

B) Cost of powerups. As LOTS of other people have noticed, health starts cheap, but gets expensive REALLY fast. Either cap its cost at something reasonable, or make it a uniform cost. Also, making you re-buy shot speed whenever you upgrade your weapon? Feels like insult-to-injury, and made me not want to buy it at all.

C) Control. Some people like mouse control, but I have great difficulty managing it. Please offer a WASD-to-move, arrows-to-shoot method.

Address these things, and you've got a real winner!

Outstanding!

Starts nice and easy, and then gets hard as hell at the end! Took me about 30 tries to finish off level 50! Well done. A couple of suggestions that I have, though. Maybe something that could highlight the blocks you're going over as you drag through them? Make them change color or something? Might help with counting blocks; I know that visually, I kinda get lost in a fog looking at all of those squares. :)

A little difficult to grasp at first...

...but otherwise a really solid offering. The instructions are a bit scant; noting that you have to click and hold to shoot, and how long you hold determines distance, would've been helpful. A tutorial level would've also been very helpful. But aside from that, it's a solid game.

This thing kicks ass.

Pretty good.

Pretty good overall, but one thing I think you could have added that would be helpful is other pictures to help describe what you're talking about. I know I was getting a little confused when you were talking about aligning the progress bars.

Also, using Windows keyboard shortcuts could be confusing to those of us who use Macs to generate Flash movies.

Other than that, nice job. Way to include the actionscript too, most new flash designers have trouble figuring out actionscript unless they've coded before.

Overall very good

While the lines fade a tad slow and there were a couple of other things, there were a lot of nice things about this game. I really like the score floating up when a block gets set or a line disappears. Nice touch.

Things that could be better:
Lines fade faster.
Sound.
Text is bigger onscreen (maybe resize the whole game window?)
Floating score text being white with a black outline instead of a shadow?

Great game.

Great concept. Love the "Rocky" soundtrack. You could have added a "mouth" hit zone, a stomach, etc. As for weapons, a bat, a crowbar, a chair, a tire iron, and a straight razor (not a safety razor); and as for "killers" you could add a chainsaw, a flamethrower/torch, an axe, etc.

Great job.
